Veterans Day
On Veterans Day, we honor the brave individuals from all walks of life who stepped forward to defend our nation throughout our history. Veterans Day also offers an occasion to gather at the National Museum of the United States Army and recognize those who have served.
Join us Nov. 8-11, 2025 for special visitor activities. Museum admission and public programs are free.
Discover the Museum’s newest exhibit, “CALL TO Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War.” Experience the sights and sounds of the American Revolution through the personal stories of our nation’s first veterans. Explore an unprecedented display of rare Revolutionary War artifacts from the original colonies, England, France and Canada. This special exhibition runs through June 2027 and is included in your FREE Museum admission—learn more.

Museum Activities and Highlights
November 8, 9, 10 and 11
Hands-on History: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 – 3 p.m.
Join a Museum educator to learn more about a Soldier’s life on and off the battlefield by exploring the food, clothing and equipment that made up a Soldier’s load.
Greeting Card Activity: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 – 3 p.m.
(All day on Nov. 11)
Create your own greeting card and write a special message to a veteran.
Tiny Troops Story Time: 11 – 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 – 3 p.m.
(No 11 a.m. story on November 10)
Share in a read-aloud story time about military veterans in your communities, followed by a special activity. Best for children 3-6 years old.
Girls Scouts – Mechanical Engineering Badge: All Day
(November 8-9 only)
Calling all curious engineers! Design your own flying flyer. We’ll provide the material you need to create different designs and see how far it flies. Scouts register here.
Volunteer Showcase: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. *
Museum volunteers share their Soldier stories about being U.S. Army paratroopers.
Family Craft Activity: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m and 1 – 3 p.m.*
Make your own military headgear from different eras.
Battle Brief – Patrick Henry’s Revolutionary War:12 p.m. – 1 p.m. *
Join a Museum educator to learn more about Patrick Henry’s wartime efforts and challenges.
Path of Remembrance Flag Display: All Day
Follow a special outdoor flag display along the Path of Remembrance and Warriors’ Plaza.
Shop & Support Veterans Discount: All Day
Veterans enjoy a special discount in the Museum Store. Shop for U.S. Army and Museum gear for yourself or start your holiday shopping early.

Art of Valor: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (November 8 only) ~
Join fellow local Veterans to explore or enhance your creative skills in a fun, social setting. Enjoy free art supplies, instruction and lunch—plus a live painting demo from the USS Yorktown by renowned artist Mary Whyte, founder of the Patriot Art Foundation. Fitness and Wellness – Yoga: 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. (November 9 only) ~
Take a moment to de-stress by enjoying a free session of yoga at the Museum. Join trained instructors for a morning of flow and sound meditation. After class, grab a coffee and some healthy snacks in the Museum Café or take some time to explore the exhibits.
