How have the experiences of individual U.S. Army Soldiers shaped the trajectory of our nation? In this educator workshop, explore the powerful stories of Soldiers who served during the Revolutionary War, the Spanish American War, and World War II to understand the Army’s role in nation building.
Designed for middle and high school educators, this workshop will provide an opportunity to deepen content knowledge by understanding the U.S. Army’s contributions beyond the battlefield in American society. Educators will engage with primary sources to interpret Soldier narratives alongside other primary documents and museum artifacts. Finally, participants will acquire new tools and strategies for integrating Soldier Stories into classroom instruction.
Join us for a day long workshop comprised of expert presentations led by museum staff, interactive discussions facilitated by master teachers, and hands-on activities to gain a deeper understanding of the Army’s role in the development of the nation and ideas for how to integrate the Soldier experience into your classroom.
This workshop is presented in collaboration with the American Battle Monuments Commission.
