American Revolution: The Augmented Exhibition

The National Museum of the United States Army and The Army Historical Foundation, will launch a special augmented reality exhibition as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Opening Saturday, April 25, “American Revolution: The Augmented Exhibition,” produced by French technology company, Histovery, invites visitors to immerse themselves in the defining moments of the Revolutionary War through innovative technology.

Augmented Reality Experience

From the rhythms of daily life in Colonial Virginia to the frozen resolve of Valley Forge, from the charged streets of Boston to Washington’s daring crossing of the Delaware—and ultimately, the triumph at Yorktown—this groundbreaking augmented exhibition brings history to life like never before. Featuring 20 life-size digital recreations rendered with stunning realism. Walk through pivotal moments, hear the echoes of history and feel the tension, hope and determination that shaped a nation.

HistoPad

Each visitor receives an easy-to-use HistoPad—a portable touchscreen tablet developed by Histovery—that serves as a gateway into the past. With it, guests explore freely, encounter historical figures, embark on interactive treasure hunts and uncover war relics and iconic objects from the Revolutionary era—all at their own pace.

America 250 ~ Events and Programs

As the Museum celebrates America 250, enjoy a dynamic lineup of free Revolutionary War public programs and explore the “CALL TO Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War” special exhibition gallery featuring rare, one-of-a-kind artifacts. Visitors are also encouraged to receive their “stamp of approval” through the Virginia 250 Passport Program by picking up a free passport at Virginia Welcome Centers and participating locations. This engaging experience offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the Army’s enduring legacy while looking ahead to America’s 250th birthday.
