Volunteer Opportunities

Visitor Engagement Ambassador

Visitor engagement ambassadors assist at the Welcome Desk, greet and orient visitors, assist with ticketing and queue management, greet tour buses and assist with other projects as needed.

Tour Docent

Tour docents provide overarching guided tours of the “Fighting for the Nation” galleries. These tours provide a general overview of Army history and include specific references to individual artifacts and Soldier stories.

Gallery Docent

Gallery docents assist visitors in the Museum galleries. Docents welcome visitors to a gallery, educate visitors about the artifacts and thematic content in that gallery and address visitor questions.

Experiential Learning Center (ELC) Volunteer

Experiential Learning Center (ELC) volunteers provide assistance for ELC educational programs. Duties include operating the ELC alongside Museum staff, assisting with preparing materials, facilitating activities and craft projects and addressing visitor questions. This opportunity involves working with the Museum’s younger visitors and learners of all ages.

Additional volunteer opportunities may be added in the future.

Volunteer Application

Through the application process, you’ll have the opportunity to share your skills, interests and abilities. Together, we will match you to a suitable volunteer position. Training is required for all volunteers and some volunteer positions (e.g. docents, Experiential Learning Center) require additional, specialized training. We currently only accept volunteer applications from those who are 18 years of age or older.

Once we have received your application we will contact you by email in advance of our next new volunteer training.
